I'm Ulf Dirk, an opera singer and voice teacher with nearly 30 years of stage experience at international opera houses, from Berlin to Hamburg to Prague and Graz. My musical path began in a boys' choir and led me through studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg, where I learned what support, vocal placement, and passaggio really mean. That conscious engagement with technique and expression shapes my teaching to this day. I teach at the SIRIUS Music School and work with beginners and advanced singers who want to develop their voice in a healthy, versatile way, whether in classical repertoire, musical, or beyond. My approach ties natural tone production to solid breathing technique and the free vibration of the vocal folds in the resonance spaces. It matters to me that you sing without artificial tension and develop a broad palette of vocal colors. My curiosity and openness to all kinds of styles, from Baroque music to contemporary composers and jazz, flow into every lesson. It brings me real joy to pass on what I've gathered and find your own path together with you.

In my teaching I put real weight on natural tone production, built on functioning breathing and a good vocal placement in the resonance spaces. The diaphragm carries the tone through what's called support, without creating artificial tension. Another focus of my work is the passaggio, which makes healthy tone production possible even in the high range. The fundamentals I teach apply to every singing style, from opera to musical to jazz, and open up a wide palette of vocal colors. I teach both beginners and advanced singers, and I love passing my years of stage experience on to the next generations.
