I'm Friedemann, a pianist and passionate music teacher with over 15 years of experience. After studying jazz piano at the Cologne University of Music and Dance, I discovered my passion for teaching, and it hasn't faded since. I teach at SIRIUS Music School and work with students of every level, from beginners to advanced. My lessons are open and personal: I ask about your favorite music, and together we find pieces that move and motivate you, whether by sheet music or by ear, depending on your learning style. I blend structured fundamentals with creative play: we work on posture, technique, scales, and chords, but also on improvisation, ear training, and understanding different genres. My specialty is jazz, but the concepts carry over to classical, pop, and every other style. Whatever works best for you, together we'll build a solid foundation and take your playing further.

I've taught piano for 15 years to beginners and advanced players of every age. My specialty is jazz, and I love passing on my knowledge of improvisation, arrangement, and composition. The concepts of jazz carry over to every genre, from classical and pop to free improvisation. My teaching style follows each student's needs and musical goals. In the first lessons I develop a feel for the direction you want to grow, then find the right structure, whether with a method book, by ear, or by working through your favorite pieces together. Along the way we work on posture, technique, scales, and musical understanding to build a solid foundation.
