Hi, I'm Maria, and I teach piano at the SIRIUS Music School. I studied music education at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe and completed additional pedagogical training in piano. What makes my teaching a little different: I only started playing piano at 14 myself – and still went on to study music. So I know the hurdles and doubts that can come up at the beginning very well. That's exactly why it matters to me to show you what becomes possible with a little patience, good guidance and trust in your own abilities. My lessons tie solid technique to musical expression: we work in a structured way on foundations like keys, chords and rhythm, but we also try things out directly on the instrument to see what works and what really moves you forward. Classical pieces or film music – I adapt to your goals and keep explaining things in different ways until they truly click. Music is more than notes to me: I've conducted orchestras and choirs, stood on stage myself, and I'm glad to bring that range into our lessons.

I've taught piano for several years, both one-to-one and in groups, working with learners of different ages – children, teenagers and adults. My teaching experience spans the private music school world as well as the school context, which has given me a good feel for different teaching situations and learning types. When I teach, I place great value on conveying content clearly and understandably, and I work step by step. I adapt my explanations flexibly to each person and try different routes when needed, until something really clicks. What matters most to me is that we don't just talk about music but experience it directly on the instrument and find out together what works best.
