I'm Anouk, a pianist and piano teacher with over 30 years of stage experience and 25 years of teaching. I've taught piano for 25 years and bring more than 30 years of stage experience into my lessons. My methodical focus is piano technique in the tradition of Claudio Arrau, which allows a natural, free flow of movement and forms the basis for tone shaping and virtuosity. It matters to me that piano playing flows effortlessly and that the musical idea comes through in the body's movement. Improvisation tied to harmony, plus interpreting works from different stylistic eras, are core parts of my lessons. That way I teach a well-rounded musical understanding and help my students unfold their very own musical expression.
