The Wallace calendar shuts Fall Semester 2026 on December 7, 2026, and what misses that date waits for January. Booking a singing lesson keeps no date of that kind. The coach jots down the hymn you know by heart and works from there. The figure to start from is $29 a lesson, and the session ahead of it carries no fee. The figure holds steady while the weekday wavers.
Ellwood Community Church publishes a Sunday worship at 10:00 a.m. and, for Wednesdays, a Bible study at 7:00 p.m., and stops at the door. Behind "I cannot sing" there is usually one note that went wrong once. A wrong note tells the coach where to work, and the first try is the hard one. Outside a room the second try crests where the first one broke, and the coach works from that take.
The Wallace calendar fixes its year well ahead: Fall Semester 2026 from August 24 to December 7, 2026, Spring Semester 2027 from January 19 to May 3, 2027. A voice keeps no deadline like that. A child who can hand a tune back is ready; a teenager keeps at it while the voice is still settling; an adult who stopped singing after school gets a plan that begins where the gap left off. The coach steering the take, whoever the singer turns out to be, marks down the held note that loses its center and coils the next week around it.

A column head sorts before a number does. The Wallace fee page runs Late Registration Fee at $25.00, Graduation Fee at $20.00, Replace I.D. Age sorts a singer no better than that column sorts a fine. Whoever carries the melody gets the stored playback to work from, in a first year of school or long past retirement. The column head wobbles once the hour is yours.
A notice can point at the wrong town. The page headed Selma, Alabama at musicteachersdirectory.org carries 80 entries, and not one of them gives an address in this city. The notices in town are exact beside it: an office hour, a library week, a worship time. Outside that listing the hour you book bows to what has not come together yet, on a weekday you name. Shift it, and the rest of the week closes the gap. Granted that a directory looks like an inventory, that impression drains away as soon as you read the addresses.

The practice condenses into a few minutes a day, though the change it makes takes longer to hear.
