A published price is a claim about one thing on sale and says little about the rest. No teacher with a Greenville, Mississippi address publishes an hourly rate for singing, which is a finding about what has reached print and says nothing about who teaches. Against that silence SIRIUS sets a figure of its own: our published price starts at $29, and the hour ahead of that costs nothing. From that first hour SIRIUS listens to what you actually sang, before a charge exists at all. The figure is in public view before you spend.
"I can't sing" is usually heard as a question about equipment, and in Greenville it reads more easily as a question about order. Delta Center Stage put a day, an hour, a hall and two names into print and said nothing about the singing itself: the notice covered arrival and left preparation out. The SIRIUS hour hands you the terms last, starting from what the voice is doing and working outward to what follows from it. Here the hearing comes before the verdict.
Delta Center Stage sold "A Christmas Story" at $15 for an adult and $10 for a student or child. It sold "High School Musical" at $25 and $15 for those same two groups. Both were ticket decisions, and each production drew the boundary for itself. Your SIRIUS coach names what the tongue is doing behind the note, and the plan is built from what is actually there. Where the second production put its line was a question for a box office.
Washington County counts backwards from an event, with the balance on an arena permit falling due ten days out. Singing runs on no such calendar, because the thing being prepared is not a date. You hold a phrase a little longer each week and hand back a slightly different version of it, timing your own progress against the note written six weeks earlier. The earliest changes are mechanical, a steadier supply of air or a cleaner start to a note, while the shaping of a line goes on getting better for years.
That same permit makes reproduction a matter of written consent, obtained before the fact. A connection makes the other case, a room where keeping the sound is the default and the consent arrives with it. SIRIUS catches the phrase at the moment you sing it, and the connection is only where the two of you are sitting. The arena has to apply in writing; the lesson never does.

Delta Center Stage published four things about its last auditions: "Mon August 3rd & Tue August 4th @ 6:00 pm", the DCS Rehearsal Hall in back of E.E. Bass, Austin McNeil directing, Dr. Oliver Johnson on musical direction. Nothing in it said what a singer would be asked to do in that hall. Washington County treats its arena the same way: a deposit of $675.00 holds a date before anything is scheduled into it. Main Street Greenville has the Delta Hot Tamale Festival down for October 16 and 17, 2026, and says of the music itself: "We are still working on 2026's lineup." In Greenville the terms of entry go out first and the content follows later.
Two evenings, an hour, a room and two people in charge: that was the whole of the printed notice, and the singing itself was not in it. The county permit for the arena works the same way, fixing a deposit against a date before any event exists to attach to it. The hour booked from SIRIUS listens for the breath first of all, so the singing gets established before terms are drafted around it. On the evening that hall was booked, the one thing nobody had set down was the sound anyone would make in it.
A condition published ahead of the content describes a door, leaving the room behind it undescribed. Delta Center Stage settled the way in and settled nothing else. Your SIRIUS coach moves the written note instead, the short account of where your voice got to this week and what it is asked for after that, so the part that changes is the description. The condition went into print once; the description keeps being rewritten.
If the sound gives out before the line does, the work is breath: where it is taken, how much goes on the opening words, and how long a supported note holds before the tone begins to thin. If two notes that should match do not, the work is tuning. If the words arrive in a row with no shape over them, the work is phrasing. You carry the song through all three, and the piece you bring in the first week is where all three get tested.
Washington County publishes obligations about its arena: a deposit against a date, a balance ten days out, a form of payment, a sum of insurance. Four requirements, and all four come before the event they attach to. SIRIUS names how many lessons there will be before it names a figure, and nothing is asked for the opening hour. The sequence is the point: here the terms arrive last, after the singing.
Clause 18 of the Washington County arena permit rules that nothing happening in that room may be broadcast, televised or recorded for reproduction without written consent of the Director. Where a room has to ask before a note can be kept, SIRIUS sets a different condition on the hour you booked: recording belongs to the teaching, and the permission is settled at the start. In that arena permission is obtained in writing; here it comes as part of the arrangement.
Mississippi Action for Community Education, a nonprofit based in Greenville, began staging the Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival in 1977, and it is held on the third Saturday in September. That date has survived more than one move, from Freedom Village outside Leland to land south of Greenville and on to the convention center; the 49th is announced for September 19th, 2026. Since 1990, under its Delta Arts Project, MACE has sponsored Blues in Schools, bringing musicians to perform in Washington County schools. The Greenville Arts Council, founded in 1983, works at 323 South Main Street in the E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center, a building that takes meetings, receptions, theater, symphony and a Summer Arts Camp; Delta Center Stage performs there. New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 518 Gum Street, lists choir rehearsal on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
MACE has been sending musicians into county schools since 1990, and the Arts Council runs a Summer Arts Camp. A school sorts by the year a pupil was born and a camp sorts by season, because that is how rolls and seasons are built. The SIRIUS hour bends the song you brought toward whatever that day's voice can do with it. A camp runs to a season and a school to a roll.
The Washington County Library System links a meeting room calendar and a meeting room policy for its main branch on Main Street, and the policy carries no fee. A room can cost nothing and still belong to somebody else, with a calendar to fit into. Your SIRIUS coach hands the hour on to another evening when your week turns, and none of the arrangement stays behind in a building. That room takes no money, and a time still has to be found in it.
Two evenings were named, then a hall behind a building on South Main, then a pair of people in charge, and the singing came last. The opening hour at SIRIUS keeps that sequence and drops the first three items. You say what you want the terms to be, and bring one song you know well enough to finish. You leave with an account of your own voice.
Here the terms of entry go to print early: a deposit that claims a date, two evenings and a hall, a festival date that has outlasted three addresses while its line-up is still open. Stand that on its head for a single voice and it will not hold, because no terms can be written before anyone knows what is being sung. SIRIUS sets the opening hour against the support it actually finds, and the paperwork follows from what that hour turns up.
