Practically everyone can be taught to sing in tune and with control. Talent is a head start, not a requirement.
From about six upward, with teenage voices handled carefully through the change, and no upper limit at all. Plenty of Centennial students begin after retirement.
A month or two of weekly lessons usually produces the first obvious gain. Real command of the instrument is measured in years.
