After the trial you and your teacher agree on a weekly slot. Every lesson runs 45 minutes, one-on-one and live over video, and the hourly rate starts at $29 in a monthly plan. You can move a lesson or switch teachers in the booking tool.
Piano is coordination before it is talent, and coordination answers to work. The first short pieces with both hands together - a melody in the right hand over a few notes in the left - usually come after a few weeks of regular practice. How far you go from there depends on how often you sit down between lessons, which is what the sheet music in your SIRIUS Workspace is for.
No one is too late to begin: a private piano lesson lets you work at the instrument you already have, one-on-one, without waiting for a group to catch up. For a child, a one-on-one lesson keeps all 45 minutes on one pair of hands rather than on a room full of them.
Beginners need no prior experience at all. Anyone can learn to play the piano, and the early lessons are about hand position, posture and reading both clefs rather than repertoire. Our teachers work with complete beginners as often as with advanced players, and every lesson is built around your own goals and the music you want to play.

In Marana the fully printed piano price list belongs to a studio outside the town line, and a retailer's branch inside the line sells lessons in blocks of 4. Distances here are municipal rather than neighborly: Tucson is 20.81 miles off. An online lesson takes the driving out of the week.

A lesson is 45 minutes, and in a monthly plan the hourly rate starts at $29. Your trial lesson is free. A plan covers two, three or four hours a month on a three- or six-month membership; more hours and a longer term bring the hourly rate down. You can pause or adjust your plan at any time. Inside Marana we found one provider printing a piano price: a retailer's branch at $120 for 4 half-hour lessons and $230 for 4 full hours. A studio that names Marana as a service area prints a fuller list - $105 to $186 a month across its group tiers, and $50, $73 or $96 for a flexibly booked 30-, 45- or 60-minute lesson - but it sits outside the town line.
A keyboard is enough to begin on. What matters more than the number of keys is touch sensitivity: the keys have to answer to how hard you press, because that is how piano technique is built. Teachers widely treat 61 touch-sensitive keys as workable for a first year and recommend a full 88 weighted keys once you are a year or two in. Your teacher will look at what you have in the trial lesson.
Most piano teachers start children at around six or seven, once a child knows basic letters and numbers, can follow a simple instruction and can sit and focus for a stretch. Readiness counts for more than the birthday, and the free trial lesson is where you and the teacher find out whether yours is ready. Adults start with us at every age, and nobody is too late.

The town sells 52 bookable activities through its own recreation catalog, and none of them teaches music. The same search finds swim lessons, tennis lessons and 2 paint nights, so the gap sits in the catalog rather than in the query. The school district here prints 8 instrumental course numbers at one of its high schools, and 5 of the 8 ask for an audition. Piano is named in 1 of them, the jazz ensemble, which also wants a place in a second ensemble during the school day.
The one shop we found teaching piano inside the town line is a national retailer's branch with 11 instructors, and it prints its rate. It stands in a southern strip of the town, 13.28 miles out. 5 teachers in the state association's county chapter give Marana as a service area, and we found no studio of theirs inside the line.
