Thinking about learning guitar and looking for a teacher in Las Vegas? SIRIUS works with vetted guitar teachers and matches you with the one who fits your goals, whether you have never held a guitar, are picking one up again after years away, or want guitar lessons for your child. Want clean barre chords, tighter strumming or your first fingerpicking pattern? Sign up for a free trial lesson and we send you a session proposal.
Our teachers help you build technique that lasts instead of habits you later have to unlearn. The SIRIUS platform is built for online music lessons, so you get reliable sound quality straight in your browser, with no extra software and no download, and you can play from anywhere in Las Vegas.

SIRIUS gives you one-to-one guitar lessons shaped around what you actually want to play, and everything from finding your teacher to payment runs through a single platform. Adding a lesson before a gig or moving a slot when the week gets busy takes a few clicks in the booking tool.
Learn the fundamentals of rhythm, chord theory and the fretboard, then apply them to the music you like, from rock and blues to pop, country, metal or fingerstyle. Acoustic or electric, your lessons always meet you at your level.
Alongside your lessons you get access to a digital Workspace built to make practice more efficient. In the SIRIUS Cloud you find the tabs, chord charts and targeted exercises your teacher assigns, all in one place. Lessons can be summarized automatically, and recordings let you go back to the moment a riff finally clicked.
You can also join monthly group sessions to play alongside other students, swap songs and pick up feedback, so you benefit from one-to-one coaching and from a community of players at the same time.

Private guitar lessons in Las Vegas typically run somewhere between $40 and $90 per hour, with beginners often starting on shorter 30-minute slots and experienced session players charging more. Those are general market figures rather than a quote. Because SIRIUS is online you get a more accessible rate, you start with a free trial lesson, and there is no long-term contract.
Most beginners can strum through a simple song within a few weeks of regular practice, and the first clean chord changes usually arrive sooner than people expect. Barre chords and lead playing take longer. What matters far more than talent is short and consistent practice: fifteen focused minutes a day beats one long session on Sunday, and your teacher structures it so you always know what to work on next.
You do need an instrument at home to practice on, but it does not have to be expensive. A solid beginner acoustic or electric will carry you through the first year, and your teacher can advise on body size, string gauge and setup before you buy. If you would rather not buy straight away, renting from a local shop is an easy way to start.
Yes, and for most students in Las Vegas it works better than driving across the valley twice a week. The SIRIUS platform runs in your browser and is built for music lessons, so your teacher hears your timing and tone clearly and can watch your fretting hand. You practice on your own guitar in your own room, which is exactly where you will be playing anyway.
Either is a fine starting point, so pick the one that matches the music you actually want to play. An acoustic needs no amp and builds finger strength quickly; an electric has lighter strings and a slimmer neck, which many beginners find more comfortable, and it opens the door to bends, vibrato and effects. The core skills of chords, rhythm and fretboard knowledge transfer completely between the two.

Las Vegas runs on live music, and a lot of it is driven by six strings. Carlos Santana has kept a residency going at the House of Blues inside Mandalay Bay for more than a decade, the Fremont Street Experience puts free rock bands on its downtown stages all summer long, and this is the city that produced Slaughter, The Killers and Five Finger Death Punch. If that soundtrack makes you want to play rather than just watch, the SIRIUS Music School gets you started - online, one to one, and around your own schedule.
Few cities give a beginner this much to aim at. The Punk Rock Museum on Western Avenue keeps a Jam Room stocked with donated instruments that visitors are invited to pick up and play, which is about as forgiving a first stage as anyone could ask for. Backstage Bar & Billiards on East Fremont Street and the Double Down Saloon on Paradise Road book local bands most weeks, and the Sand Dollar Lounge has carried the Home of the Blues name on Spring Mountain Road since the seventies. Virgin Hotels hosts a weekly open mic on Wednesday nights for players who want a room and a microphone.
What the valley makes harder is the practice half. Shift work, long drives between Summerlin and the Strip, a school run out toward Henderson - a fixed weekly appointment at a studio across town is usually the first thing to fall off the calendar. Taking guitar lessons in Las Vegas online removes that obstacle: your teacher comes to your living room, and the commute disappears.
You start with the things that make a guitar sound like music: open chords, clean chord changes and strumming patterns you can actually keep in time. From there your teacher builds out the toolkit - barre chords and the shapes that unlock every key, fingerpicking, alternate picking, hammer-ons, pull-offs and slides, palm muting and dynamics.
You will learn to read tab and, if you want it, standard notation, and to hear where a chord progression is going before you get there. Rhythm gets its own attention, because timing is what separates a player who knows chords from a player people enjoy listening to. And you learn songs from the first lesson - real ones, chosen with you.
Acoustic or electric, both are on the table. Acoustic builds finger strength and keeps your rhythm honest; electric opens up lead playing, bends, vibrato and your first steps with amps and effects. Plenty of students work on both, and your teacher helps you decide where to put your time.
Why learn guitar with SIRIUS? A few of the reasons our students give:
Playing in this city is not reserved for headliners. Downtown Rocks brings full bands to the Fremont Street stages at no charge, the small rooms downtown and along Paradise Road keep local acts working, and Roman Guitars on West Harmon Avenue, long known as Ed Roman Guitars, still deals in new, used and vintage instruments. Bands have been forming here for decades - Slaughter in 1988, The Killers in 2001, Panic! at the Disco out of Summerlin in 2004, Five Finger Death Punch in 2005.
That is the point of the online model: you build the technique at home, week after week, and the city gives you somewhere to use it. Your teacher can prepare you for a specific open mic, a first band rehearsal, or simply for playing through a song at a backyard barbecue without losing the beat.
Complete beginners are welcome and common - most of our students have never had a lesson before. Returning players who put the guitar down years ago often progress faster than they expect, because the muscle memory is still there. Kids can start as soon as they can comfortably hold a smaller-scale instrument, and adults pick it up at 30, 50 or 70 with no disadvantage beyond impatience.
Advanced players are covered too, whether you want to widen your lead vocabulary, get theory under control or prepare an audition. Whatever you bring to the first lesson, your guitar teacher meets you there.
Getting going is simple: book a free trial lesson, tell us what you want to play, and we send you a session proposal with a matching teacher. Whether your ambition is the Jam Room at the Punk Rock Museum, a Wednesday night open mic, or three songs you can play properly at home, Las Vegas is a good place to be learning an instrument - and you do not have to cross the valley to do it.
