SIRIUS opens its singing lessons at $29 and works upward from there, and the opening lesson, free, comes ahead of the first paid one. Somebody who stopped singing years ago leaves open the morning they set aside and uses the trial to find out whether the voice is still willing. What the fee covers is one coach for the session, a written plan and a workspace. No charge attaches to that opening session, and the paid ones begin at the figure above.
Somebody who was told to mouth the words learned something that day about a school hall, while the voice itself went unexamined. Being asked to mouth the words says something about a school hall and its acoustics. Your coach asks for the music you chose yourself and works from what actually happens to it. The room misled a lot of people, and most of them can sing.
Immanuel Baptist Church takes students from the kindergarten through the sixth grade into its choir, and from the fourth grade up it lets them try for the speaking part. The choir opens at the kindergarten, and the speaking part opens to the fourth grade and above. A SIRIUS coach notes the morning you set aside and fits the exercise to the voice that turns up in it. The fourth grade adds a threshold the choir itself does not have.
The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society puts six concerts between September and April. Four of the six start at 4 p.m. on a Sunday; two start at 7 p.m. on a Saturday. This school resets the music you chose yourself whenever it stops fitting, and that is usually the sign that something has changed. Two of the six break the pattern, and progress breaks its own pattern in much that manner.
Kern Transit takes its calls on a dispatch line rather than at a counter. A number answers, and a ride is arranged from it. The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society sells a single seat at $30 and drops it to $25 for seniors, and at its own season-ticket counter it adds a 3.8% fee to credit card orders. The City of Ridgecrest works that same boundary from the other side: the reduction it grants schools and non-profits comes off the room and stays off the deposit. A reduction here lands on the seat or the hall, and the charges bolted to them hold their ground.
The Schedule of Fees of the City of Ridgecrest Parks and Recreation Department puts its twenty percent discount for non-profits and schools on the usage fee and withholds it from the add-on items and the deposits. The hall comes down by a fifth; the microphone deposit does not move. Singing lessons have the opposite structure, because the bill has a single line. The lesson you signed up for registers whatever music you chose and starts there. The deposit survives the discount there; here the session has no add-on beside it to survive.

Breath, then pitch, then the handover between registers, then reading fluent enough to hold a line: that is the order a first year of singing lessons takes. Reading comes last of the four, and it takes the longest. The session you signed up for keeps the homework you took on in writing, so the four are not left sitting in the head at once. Reading comes last among the four, and it is the one you can work at sitting down.
The recording, the exercises and the summary of a SIRIUS lesson stay in one workspace. The recording keeps Tuesday, and the summary keeps what Tuesday was for. Your booked session fits around the page you take away, which is the point of writing it down. The coach you get answers to the music you named, and a session is booked, shifted or added from a browser. The workspace holds what the hour produced, including the parts you would have forgotten by Thursday.
The Ridgecrest Branch of the Kern County Library reopened on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, after work on life-safety and critical maintenance needs. The branch that reopened in February had been closed for building work, not for damage. Equipment settles what a room can do, and a lesson over the network is no different. The morning you set aside, a coach hears in full, because the sound path is tuned to a sung line and holds a note where a telephone would thin it. The building reopens, and the hour reaches you wherever the building is.
The Ridgecrest Chamber Music Society plays its season at Ridgecrest United Methodist Church, 639 N. Norma Street, and writes that four of the six performances will begin at the traditional day and time of 4 p.m. on Sundays, while the remaining two will be Saturday at 7 p.m. A single seat costs $30, or $25 for seniors and $5 for students and active-duty military members; the season runs $165.00 and $135.00, with a 3.8% fee on credit card orders. The Desert Community Orchestra, formed in 1960, plays outdoors on the Outdoor Learning Terrace at Cerro Coso Community College on September 26, 2026, and asks for no ticket.
The Community Choir at Cerro Coso Community College is described as specifically geared toward older adults; however, there are no age or other restrictions on enrollment. The course says older adults, and then takes that back: it sets no age limit. Immanuel Baptist Church holds down the far end of that span, taking its choir from the kindergarten to the sixth grade at 5 to 6 PM. Your coach follows the last two words of the verse at nine and at seventy, and the exercise changes while the diagnosis holds. The sentence withdraws its own limit, and a lesson had no such limit to withdraw.
Kern Transit runs routes 227 and 230 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and its stop at the City Hall carries no time of its own on either run. Monday, Wednesday, Friday: three days, two routes, one stop the printed schedule leaves blank. The place where the verse runs out of air, a booked session spares you the trouble of carrying from one day to the next, because the note is already written. The City Hall stop goes unlisted, and your session goes into a calendar you control.
For that September evening the Desert Community Orchestra opens its doors at 6:30 PM and starts at 7:00 PM, and writes Bring a chair & a picnic! The orchestra brings the music, and the audience brings the chair. The homework you took on, a first session moves to the end and puts the singing first: you arrive, you sing whatever the voice still holds, and the coach listens. The picnic belongs to the audience, and the first song belongs to you.
The discount at the Kerr McGee Community Center reaches the hall and stops at the microphone. The fifth that comes off the hall does not come off the deposit. This school files that thin spot at the end of the verse where you can find it a month on, and that is a different arithmetic: the session keeps back no part of the thing you came for. The microphone resists the discount, and a written note resists forgetting.
