The Love Civic Center rate card has a line for the hall, a line for the stage, a line for the lighting and a line for the sound. SIRIUS puts its own starting figure at $29 a lesson, with the trial hour given free, so you have the number before spending anything. The booked hour carries one condition: that you arrive ready to sing something.
Thirty or more people sing in the Paris Community Choir, and Paris Community Theatre counts them by registration. Underneath the phrase there is usually one mechanical fault, most often a jaw that locks before a high note. Your SIRIUS teacher will find it in the first hour by listening to you sing. Registration is a list of names, and a list of names settles nothing about the voices on it.
Paris High School, under Paris Independent School District, has three performance choirs, a Men's Choir, a Varsity Women's Choir and a Chorale, led by Lindsay McCarter and Courtney Malone. Groups need lines like those in order to be groups. A singer hears the plan built round their own voice instead, so the starting age is whatever age you are. Past that, no upper limit is worth printing, and people book a first hour long after the school choirs have stopped being an option.
Paris Community Theatre marks fifty years across its 2026-2027 season, with more than 200 productions behind it. A count like that measures a company. The school moves the condition and leaves the calendar alone: each hour is booked against a named difficulty. The difficulty is the unit here, and you name it.
Songs of the Season appears in the season list with a host and a date where the other four carry a casting call, which happens when the room matters less than the singing that fills it. A video lesson saves the drive across Lamar County that a fixed room would cost you. You get a coach who has read the note from last time, a written record of what moved, and a date that belongs to you.

The rate card the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce publishes for the Love Civic Center prices the room by the clock and the sound by the purpose. A hall runs $575 for six hours or less and $750 for six to sixteen; a conference room goes at $125 per four hour block. Then comes a line that changes the rule: House P.A. with up to 2 mics, $50, and beside it the words "system not available for use by DJ or bands and is intended primarily for speaking presentations." A band is sent to a different line, Band or heavy AVL electrical hook-up, $100 per night. The house P.A. carries the condition; the microphones at $20 each, the stage, the stage lighting, the spot lights and the green room do not.
The choir that meets on Monday evenings rehearses in a building its own company does not own. Paris Community Choir belongs to Paris Community Theatre and gathers at First United Methodist Church Paris, 322 Lamar Avenue, from September 21 at 6:30 p.m. It performs there too, on a Monday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m. The company owns the Plaza Theatre and rehearses its choir somewhere else entirely. The teacher you are matched with at SIRIUS brings a plan the singer keeps; no lease runs out underneath it. Paris Independent School District runs three performance choirs at Paris High School; North Lamar Independent School District has choirs of its own at 3130 N Main St.
Alaina Downing directs the choirs at First United Methodist Church Paris and the Paris Community Choir that borrows the same room. One person, two ensembles, thirty or more singers on the community side alone. A singer working one-on-one has the opposite arithmetic, and SIRIUS writes down the condition under which the next hour will count as progress: a specific thing that was not possible in the last one. The room they use on a Monday is the church's.
Five titles fill the 2026-2027 season of Paris Community Theatre, four of them with audition dates beside them. The fifth, Songs of the Season, carries a host and a date instead, and the host is First United Methodist Church Paris. The school does not ask you to arrive with the bar that keeps slipping already fixed; that is the material the hour is for. What the breath can carry and what the ear can check are worked on from the first hour, and pitch under a key change follows from both.
A room at the Love Civic Center is priced by the hour; the amplifier that carries a voice answers to what you mean to do with it. Under a SIRIUS booking the terms are simpler: a coach hears you, and the next date gets set on the spot. One item, one purpose, and the purpose is your voice. The first hour is a free trial, and the plan written after it stays where you can read it. Nothing on our side is intended primarily for speaking presentations.
The house system at the Love Civic Center is written down as something to speak through. A restriction like that travels with the object, not with the room housing it. The booked hour attaches its condition to what you are singing, and that condition moves with you from week to week whatever room you are standing in.
The Plaza Theatre opened as a picture house on July 30, 1926. Paris Community Theatre was founded in the spring of 1976, bought the building in 1981 for $65,000, rebuilt it in 1985 and put its first play on the new stage in May 1986. Its source for the closing as a cinema says late 1973 or 1974 and leaves it there. Across the 2026-2027 season the company marks fifty years and counts more than 200 productions. The Lamar County Chamber of Commerce publishes the rate card for the Love Civic Center at 2025 S Collegiate Drive, where the entire hall measures 13,030 square feet. Paris Main Street lists the Farmers and Artisan Market on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. between May and October, and Salsa on the Square on September 19 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Paris Junior College, across its campuses in Paris, Greenville and Sulphur Springs, charges an Oklahoma resident the middle rate on a ladder of three: its rule reads that Oklahoma residents are charged out-of-district rather than out-of-state. A state line that would sort most things sorts nothing there. The teacher you are matched with writes down the bar that keeps slipping for whoever is on the call, and no bracket settles it beforehand. Children start around six, teenagers gain while the voice is rebuilding itself, and adults book their first hour at any point after that.
Paris Metro runs its routes on weekdays between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., under the Ark-Tex Council of Governments, and publishes no direction and no departure for them. A singer asks for the date that fits, and SIRIUS does not ask for a standing slot in return. The Saturday market and a Monday rehearsal at 6:30 p.m. already sit where somebody else put them.
The Paris Community Choir starts rehearsing on September 21 at 6:30 p.m., and getting in runs through registration. A first lesson can be booked in the week you decide to have one. The school hears the repertoire you actually arrive with, whatever it is, and there is no list to have prepared.
The tower reservation sits on that rate card beside the halls, priced at two hours. Lighting it overnight has its own line, $65 with a reservation and $100 without. A sheet like that treats a landmark as a rentable stretch of time, and there is something clear-eyed in it. Singing is sold by the hour as well, and the hour is yours to move: a named teacher, a written note of what has changed since then, and a date you set.
