The Florence Little Theatre seats its audience from thirty minutes ahead of the curtain. The office keeps five hours; the house keeps that half hour. Lessons start at $29 here, and a free first lesson comes before them. That first lesson does not ask you to have already repaired the line that keeps slipping; it asks you to sing it once so somebody can hear where it goes. The house allows half an hour ahead of the curtain; a free first lesson sets aside a whole one for listening.
The Florence Little Theatre writes that prior experience is not required, and for a musical it asks for a song that shows what the voice does. The song reaches the musical director before it reaches the room. That is the distinction the phrase 'I cannot sing' usually collapses: it names a result and hides the practice standing behind it. As soon as the first guess about a voice turns out wrong, the written plan gets reset, and the first guess often does turn out wrong. The house asks for a demonstration and leaves the credentials out of it.
The Masterworks Children's Choir takes grades three through eight, meeting Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Unchanged voices is the condition, and the screening sorts a voice into a place. Groups need an edge like that. A lesson sets its own. The coach you are matched with writes the date you picked into the plan and works back from it, whenever the singer last sang. Grades three through eight draws a line a choir needs, and a lesson works either side of it.
The Masterworks Choir of Florence counted its forty-seventh season across 2025 and 2026, opening in December and closing the following May. A season is the unit that choir measures in. For a singer, something shifts inside a handful of lessons and settles across a year or two. You carry the written plan forward, and that is how this attempt gets held against the one before it. The choir numbers its season once and lets the number run across two calendars.
The SC Pecan Music and Food Festival puts its named stages on the downtown streets for one Saturday in November. Each stage is named for what plays on it, and the walking between them makes up the day. Over video the singing happens wherever you are already sitting, and that room is usually the one you practice in later that week. Francis Marion University runs that house from a campus at 4822 East Palmetto Street, which the Census Bureau places outside the city limits, while the house itself stands inside them. The rest of this page keeps the two apart, because Florence keeps them apart.
The Florence Little Theatre says where its box office is by naming the building next door: at the back of the house, closest to the Florence County Library System at 509 South Dargan Street. The Florence Symphony Orchestra does it the other way round: it prints the ticket office of the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center and keeps a separate line of its own, (843) 661-2541. Here a lesson starts from the date you picked, and no term calendar sits above it. The number the orchestra prints for tickets rings in a house it does not run.

Its own pages leave the children's choir without a published room and the adult chorus without a published rehearsal time. The Masterworks Choir of Florence was founded in 1979, and its forty-seventh season ran across 2025 and 2026: two December concerts at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center with free admission, a March afternoon at Central United Methodist Church, 167 South Irby Street, with childcare provided, and a closing date in May. The SC Pecan Music and Food Festival, a program of the Florence Downtown Development Corp., takes downtown Florence for one Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with free admission and named stages that include a Gospel Stage, a Jazz Stage and a Blues Bash Stage. Francis Marion University fills its own season with 22 dates, and the ones it dates to the day it sets at 7:30 p.m. The Florence Little Theatre holds its casting calls at 417 South Dargan Street and runs two youth programs alongside its season.
The Florence Little Theatre runs its Children's Workshop for grades two through six and Rising Stars for grades seven through twelve, on different afternoons of the same week. Monday or Thursday for the younger class, Tuesday for the older one, at $225.00 per student per semester. Whatever age the singer is, the line that keeps slipping gets carried forward from week to week. Two classes, two age bands, and one figure covers a semester of either.
The Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority runs out of 313 South Stadium Road across six counties, and writes that the counties it serves besides Florence carry no charge. The orchestra prints the number of the house; the house answers it. Listening comes before writing here, and the written plan is made out of what the opening lesson heard.
